Customs and festivals of Taxco

Taxco and the Procession of the Animas:
Words like "moving" or "awesome" are those heard when asking a description of the celebration of Holy Week in Taxco, Guerrero, where fervor recalls the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, according to Catholic tradition.

For a week, the streets of this magical town Guerrero processions are held in which the inhabitants prove their faith through symbolic sacrifices, and even physical, to expiate some fault or simply to offer their suffering to whom consider their savior. On the cobbled streets parade processions accompanied by dramatic religious images testify to the sacrifice of hooded penitents, black dresses who drag chains attached to their ankles by way of sacrifice.
January 17 : blessing of animals . Celebration is done in the church of Santa Prisca . Competitions are also organized animal's best dressed or disguised , by the culture center of Taxco , Guerrero and the Institute of Culture , which is carried out in the garden after the BEditing Borda ecleseástica .January 18 : Festival of Santa Prisca
All May: Alarconianas days .October: Jumil fair , exhibiting many dishes made with this unique ingredient .From 27 November to 5 December : International Fair Plata. The National Silver Fair has become a tradition , and its programs have presented the best exponents of national artistic and abroad with such success that in 1974 he held the " First World Silver Fair " with the participation of 40 countries and the likes of " Bolshoi Ballet " of the Soviet Union .
